‘SOCIAL INTEGRATION WITH INCLUSIVE & INTEGRATED EDUCATION WITH LIFE-SKILL DEVELOPMENTS LEADING TO COMPLETE REHABILITATION’

Rehabilitating children with disabilities back to the society needs ‘Inclusive Education and Integrated Education’ both. We send our residential children to formal schools close by our campus from VII Grade onwards. The physical mobility and safety limitations make it very difficult to attend formal schools while staying in their homes or in communities that ignore or exploit them...
Many a times the children with disabilities are despised by peers and even the teachers (in govt. schools) complain saying that they (teachers) aren’t trained to cater to their needs. But still, this initiative helps them making friends with other children while sharing life and get familiarize with outside world what they need most before they’re sent back to their communities. In due process it helps breaking the socio-cultural barriers to a large extend as the peer-groups learn more about the challenges of disabilities.

HAND-HELD TEACHING SESSION BY PRINCIPAL & STAFF OF D. F. ACADEMY

logo One of the major challenges is that most of the text books which are used in the public schools (where the normal students study) are not available in braille format.
In such cases we help the schools by sending our teachers-educators to facilitate learning. Our trained educators help them to a large extend.

D. F. ACADEMY’S LIFE SKILL CERTIFICTION CEREMONY

logo Second Part of our Inclusive Education is for the parents of children with disabilities, using ‘Education Without Boundary’ - (EWB). It’s an Age-appropriate Inclusive Functional Education System specially designed for reaching the education to the community door-steps, more particularly for those who never had any opportunity of formal schooling say persons with multiple disabilities for which they lack skills, tools and resources to lift themselves out of their dire situation. The ‘EWB’ is meant to engage, educate and empower diverse group of citizens in their local context, and plays a key role as ‘Incentives for Development’;
For example: Adolescent Girls and Women learn literacy and numeracy better if they’re also taught skills and practices along with alternative livelihood that can resolve several other immediate life challenges simultaneously such as ‘Reproductive Health Management, better Family Planning, Mitigating Domestic Violence etc.
