Promoting Rights Of Disabled Children & Youth & Preventing Violence

At ‘DF-Society’ we make every effort to ensure children’s participation as rights holders and change-makers through all our initiatives in tune with the principles of UN’s CRC. We also strive to ensure equal civil rights such as getting them social identity cards, enabling them to participate in democratic franchise without intimidation or oppression… meaning to say people affected by multiple disabilities have equal rights to participate in decision-making process even through electoral representation etc, as part of our efforts towards establishing gender-just egalitarian communities etc.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDERN EXHIBITING TALENTS - STAGE PERFORMENCE

The ‘D. F. Society’ strives to mitigate corporal violence, psychological and verbal abuses ending socio-economic exclusions and religious misgiving that discriminate persons with disabilities especially sightless as such norms come from certain religio-cultural institutions that govern communities… thinking they’re a curse from god(s) and are treated as out-caste.

WE CELEBRATE EVERY CHILD’S B’DAY AS PART OF ENDING DISCRIMINATION

Violence exists in India since time immemorial, rooted in societal norms and is taken for granted as normal. Most victims especially among poor, illiterate and incapacitated don’t report until it reaches to certain visible deformities for fear of further escalation, not realizing how much it can decrease a child’s growth, level of immunity, intelligentsia and productivity… making them socially incapable to live a successful life. We do raise Community-Based Support Groups - (CSG) to sensitize families against such discriminations and violence, and available remedies.
